Spanning 200 square miles of central England, the National Forest is one of the country’s most ambitious and highly regarded environmental projects. Over the past 25 years the National Forest Company, working with partners, has driven forward the vision for the Forest, taking it from a leap of faith to the success story we see today: a restored forest landscape and a developing visitor destination. But there is much more to do.

The Government’s 25-year Environment Plan sets out ambitious targets for forest creation and our new vision for the National Forest will focus on mitigation and adaptation to climate change, demonstrating how a woodland environment can be the catalyst for a greener future and sustainable living. To help shape our approach and realise these ambitions we are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Land & Forestry. You will be responsible for developing and leading our land management strategy, as well as overseeing our forest creation activity and woodland economy support.

This role requires a land-based professional with commercial acumen who can identify and develop income generation opportunities. You will be a strategic thinker, able to influence policy and work effectively with a diverse range of partners. Bringing with you a successful track record, you will have extensive experience of operating in a complex project environment. Above all, you will share our passion for the National Forest and be motivated to make your mark with a national exemplar of sustainability.

To find out more about the role please visit our website.

Closing date for applications is Monday, 21st October at 5pm and interviews will be held on Friday, 8th November at the National Forest Company offices.

The National Forest Company is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
