Environment Consultant

Risk & Policy Analysts Limited (RPA) is an employee owned independent consultancy with an established reputation and proven expertise in the fields of UK & EU policy, economics, environment, chemicals and sustainability.

After becoming an employee owned business in April, we have ambitious growth plans over the next two years. As a result, we are seeking to increase our leadership team to grow existing contracts and new areas of work. We are currently seeking individuals to join our Environment team at the Senior Consultant and Principal Consultant level at the company’s headquarters in Norfolk (Loddon). These roles will be expected to work across different topics, as well as to help RPA move into new sectors. The roles would involve identifying tender opportunities, leading on proposals and managing projects. This would include client liaison, team management, technical work and stakeholder engagement. As an experienced manager within environmental consultancy, you will have:

  • 6 years plus experience within natural resource management, socio-economic assessment or environmental consultancy;
  • A proven track record of leading impact assessments and/or evaluations according to UK and/or EU guidelines in areas such as flood and coastal erosion, marine environment, water quality and water resources;
  • Experience of carrying out evaluations drawing on both quantitative and qualitative evidence;
  • Ability to lead and run workshops, focus groups and semi-structured interviews;
  • Awareness/knowledge of ecosystem services and understanding of the Water Framework Directive and status classifications;
  • Familiarity with natural capital accounting, ecosystem services, natural resource issues, environmental economics;
  • Significant experience of successful public tendering within the sector;
  • Ability to develop innovative methodologies to meet clients’ needs;
  • Leadership and people management experience;
  • Project management skills (Prince 2 or equivalent) and experience of leading relevant projects for either public or private sector clients;
  • Strong links and networks within industry, the public sector and/or academia;
  • Excellent written English (other language skills would also be an advantage).
