School Sustainable Travel Assistant (School Travel Worker)
£9.94 per hour
Casual (Averaging at 2-8 hours per week, based at 100 Temple Street, Bristol)

An opportunity has arisen to work within schools as part of the Sustainable Transport Team, to promote active and sustainable modes of travel, to subsequently increase physical activity of pupils and school staff.

You will be expected to travel to schools across the City to deliver a range of active travel themed sessions to pupils aged 4-18, with a focus on primary school age children. You will be expected to deliver assemblies to large audiences, as well as running workshops with smaller groups both indoors and outdoors. You will also be responsible for liaising with school staff, and carrying out risk assessments to ensure sessions are safe and effective.

You need to demonstrate experience of working with children, be an enthusiastic and engaging communicator, and have experience of running sessions with young people and/or community groups. You must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have confidence giving presentations, and have the ability to engage and motivate a range of audiences.

You will need to be able to work flexibly and outside of normal hours, outside in all weathers, and to travel to several schools within a working day.
