Assistant Reserves Officer – North Hampshire
Salary Circa £18,500k - £22k depending on qualifications and experience; full-time 35 hours per week; permanent contract; based at Herriard Park, Herriard, near Basingstoke, RG25 2PL.

As part of the North Hampshire Team, this post is crucial to the successful delivery of the Trust’s Reserves and Wilder vision in north and east Hampshire. The post will be instrumental in the delivery of practical management by volunteers across north Hampshire. The role involves working on some of the most highly designated wildlife sites in the area, including the MoD training estate.

Working as part of a small team this is a highly practical role delivering conservation management works across a range of sites and habitat types. A great communicator and with experience of managing and leading volunteer teams you will work under the supervision of the Fleet Reserves Officer.

This is a challenging role that requires a high degree of practical competency, initiative and enthusiasm. The post holder will be responsible for the management of volunteers and coordination of a varied practical volunteering work programme. The post holder will assist the Reserve Officers with day to day habitat/estate management work and livestock husbandry.

Flexible working will be required and experience in the use of power tools and tractors will be essential. Knowledge of conservation grazing systems and livestock husbandry will be an advantage. The post holder will be expected to work some week-ends and some unsocial hours.

The Assistant Reserve Officer will be expected to be confident and engaging with great communication skills. A full driving licence is required.
