Join a newly structured dynamic team within a new organisation (UKRI) that is making a difference by supporting world-class research and innovation. You will coordinate and deliver ISCF and SPF investment programmes led by NERC – collectively worth more than £100m – which have demanding partnership, governance and outcome requirements. You will establish and line-manage a growing team of staff and draw upon relevant environmental science domain experts from across our Head Office.

We aim to deliver solutions for a productive, healthy and resilient environment through a portfolio of strategic research and innovation programmes. Some of these programmes are co-designed, co-funded and co-delivered with government and business partners through funds administered by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), namely: The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) and Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF).

You will need:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of coordinating, managing and delivering research and innovation investments and programmes with demanding partnership, governance and outcome requirements.
  • Experience of project management in or with research and innovation organisations, funders and users, including business and government.
  • Credibility and relationship building skills within relevant stakeholder communities
  • The ability to lead and manage people and budgets

The role will involve some occasional UK travel.
