A fantastic opportunity has come up for the unique post of Nectar Network Co-ordinator.

We are looking for an individual who has the personality and skills to reach out to businesses, golf courses and other land-managers to extend membership of the Nectar Network between the towns of Irvine and Girvan, while supporting existing partners to continue looking after their pollinator patches.

You’ll be able to evaluate sites and formulate management proposals that you will help to implement. You’ll also devise a biodiversity monitoring plan as well as a program of work days, workshops and events for volunteers to get involved in. Enhancing the project’s public profile through guided walks, engaging talks and media work, such as refreshing its online presence, will be key to your success.

Applicants should have good ecological skills as well as being an excellent communicator and organiser. Importantly, you’ll enjoy connecting people with nature and be able to work on your own initiative with limited supervision.

You must be educated to HND/degree level in a related subject, or have the equivalent in experience. You will also need to have a working knowledge of the flora and fauna of coastal Ayrshire.

The role involves extensive travel in and around wildlife sites between Irvine and Girvan where public transport links are limited so a full UK driving licence is essential.
