The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. We want to see a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife. The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. We own and care for over 1,000 woodland sites across the United Kingdom and support the creation and management of woodland on others’ land.

As Assistant Conservation Officer - Evidence you will support the central Conservation Outcomes and Evidence Team, which is the hub of evidence gathering, research, monitoring and citizen science. The focus of this role within the team’s research and evidence capacity is to manage and contribute to internal and external resources providing high quality, up-to-date information on conservation and related issues. You will also work with colleagues across the Trust to provide conservation expertise, and support projects generating data through citizen science and other survey work.

You’ll have previous experience in the conservation sector, with a good understanding of environmental issues and a willingness to further develop your knowledge and skills. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse, synthesise and summarise technical information aimed at different target audiences. Working effectively with others, you will be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload pertaining to data and evidence spanning the work of the Conservation Outcomes and Evidence Team.

There’s no other organisation like the Woodland Trust. Whatever you do here you will be supporting our work to protect and enhance woods and trees. In return we recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.
