Contracts Manager

About Us:

Do you want to work for one of the UK’s leading, award winning, ecological consultancies? Due to recent expansion and further planned strategic growth within the company, Middlemarch Environmental are currently recruiting for roles to meet our growing client needs throughout the country and to engage with the emerging biodiversity agenda.

Middlemarch Environmental provides client focused, cost effective advice and expertise on all ecological and arboricultural issues that occur during the planning and development process. The company was set up in 1989 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, which is itself part of The Wildlife Trusts, the largest voluntary organisation in the UK concerned with all aspects of nature conservation and the environment.

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable candidate to join our Major Projects Team in the role of Contracts Manager. The role will be focused on the management of coordination of a number of exciting projects, ensuring that project milestones are achieved, targets are met and client expectations are satisfied. This role will encompass various stages of the project life cycle, from engagement in the bidding process through to project delivery and client retention.

The Contracts Manager will form part of the Senior Management Team and will be directly responsible to the Ecology and Landscape Director.

The package will include a competitive salary (dependent on experience and skills) with a performance related bonus available, company pension and an opportunity for continued professional development.

Skills and Experience Required:

This is a position for an individual with previous experience in project delivery. The ability to communicate effectively is required to manage client relationships, in addition to strong planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.

Specialist experience may be required in some business streams, e.g. ecological mitigation and habitat creation.

Membership of a relevant professional body, such as CIEEM/RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE, is desirable, and a valid CSCS card is required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners under time pressure. An ideal candidate will be customer centric in approach, with the ability to recognise potential opportunities in invitations to tender.

Financial awareness is required to deliver targets, with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance. The individual should have confidence in their ability to lead, influence and communicate with others to deliver targets.
