SAC Consulting Solutions is a group within SRUC and is formed from a number of teams in divided into four regions in a variety of locations spread across the country. This post is located at Technopole, Bush Estate, near Penicuik which is in the Central region, however regular travel will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role. Other working locations in Scotland may be considered.

The group provides an unrivalled level of consultancy service to farmers, crofters and the wider rural sector.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant with the experience and ability to lead part of our consultancy team. This role would suit an individual who has an existing profile, expertise and strong practical experience in the environmental sectors related to land management, agriculture and/or food production and processing. This role may also suit those who have engineering qualifications and experience related to the agricultural industry.

The Senior Environmental Consultant role has responsibility for managing and undertaking project work with clients in the agricultural and rural industries on a wide range of topics, for example renewable energy and energy management, sustainable drainage and flood management, environmental permitting and planning, engineering work such as building design and other topical issues. Duties will primarily focus on helping customers to make sustainable interventions to their business, in the context of the food production and rural sectors.

Applicants should possess a degree in an environmental, engineering, agriculture or similar relevant discipline. Chartered status and membership of a professional body is desirable.
