Do you have the passion, drive, experience and enthusiasm to help deliver a new, innovative five-year scheme comprising 20 ambitious projects? The Cranborne Chase and Chalke Valley Landscape Partnership has been awarded £1.68m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Together with partner match funding, this £2.7m scheme aims to enhance the natural, historic and cultural heritage of this stunning, historic landscape through encouraging widespread community engagement and involvement.

You will be responsible, as part of a small team, for successful scheme delivery by 2024 and for ensuring it creates lasting memories and a legacy for the area. The team will comprise a Landscape Partnership Manager (FT), a Countryside Ranger/Volunteer Co-ordinator (FT), Heritage and Community Engagement Officer (FT), a Support Officer (PT) and this post. The Landscape Partnership team will form part of, and be supported by, the Cranborne Chase AONB team. Effective communications and engagement with multiple partners, groups and individuals is crucial to promote the work of the Landscape Partnership and team, encouraging increased awareness, understanding, involvement and enjoyment.

We are looking for a creative and innovative Communications Officer. You will use your skills, proven knowledge and experience to promote the Landscape Partnership area and our wide ranging projects, initiatives and events to local, regional and national audiences. You’ll play a vital role in collaborating closely with, and working alongside, a myriad of different partner organisations, communities and interest groups, ensuring creative and consistent communications. You’ll have experience of preparing briefs for external contracts, developing information/interpretation materials, delivering inspiring presentations to promote the scheme and enjoy organising events for the public.

You will have a high level of IT literacy, self-motivation and initiative to undertake this key role of publicising and promoting the Landscape Partnership through all media channels in addition to the web site, publications, events and social media. You will relish the opportunity to meet new people and significantly raise the profile of the Landscape Partnership area.

You will have at least 3 years communications/media experience and have a knowledge of and interest in natural, historic or cultural heritage. Your strong communication skills alongside your positive and flexible approach to work will enable you to deal with the wide variety of tasks.
