Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

There are two project leadership opportunities here. The Offshore Transmission role takes ownership of the delivery of individual, high value complex projects within a competitive tendering process. The Interconnectors role leads on engagement with developers and industry on financing and delivery of pan-European infrastructure. Your aim will be to ensure that our regulatory regimes continue to deliver the best value for GB customers as we move towards a low-carbon energy sector. It is fast-moving, high profile work, calling for a highly collaborative approach, a deep understanding of the commercial and regulatory issues affecting the sector, and a real determination to drive continuous improvement across a changing energy landscape.

For both of these roles, we are looking for individuals who combine analytical, numerical and highly strategic thinking. A proven track record in a finance-focussed role is essential, gained either within government or in a private sector organisation working in a similar area, for example PPP, project finance or franchising. Experience of interpreting and communicating financial modelling data is vital, with the expertise and capability to continue the discussion into commercially related areas. You must be able to lead projects and manage cross-team input’, bringing effective decision-making, outstanding project delivery skills and exceptional stakeholder management abilities. Some knowledge or experience of the development or construction of regulated infrastructure would be ideal.
