The Wessex Chalk Stream and Rivers Trust (WCSRT) is an environmental charity, dedicated to the protection and conservation of chalk streams in Wessex. These rivers are of global importance and support a range of rare species and habitats. Despite their protected status, chalk streams are in decline and it is evident we have to do more to safeguard their future. Therefore WCSRT is seeking to employ a Project Officer (PO) to help us develop and deliver a number of exciting projects in the chalk catchments of the Hampshire Avon and Dorset Stour in the years to come

This role provides a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional with a passion for rivers to make a difference for the natural environment. The PO will work on existing projects to enhance chalk stream habitat and water quality, and also play a key role in identifying local opportunities, secure funding, enthuse local communities and deliver exemplar improvements on the ground. The PO will work closely with other Trust staff to help achieve the wider Trust charitable objectives, and will report to the newly appointed Head of Project Delivery.

The successful applicant has to prove to hold the qualifications, experiences and skills as set out in the detailed job description ‘Project Officer’ (available on the Trust’s website) to demonstrate they are able to take on this role.

To apply, send or preferably email a CV (3 pages maximum) and a cover letter including your motivation and how you match the person specification (1000 words maximum) to the address below by 30th August 2019, 5pm latest.
