We are looking for an inspiring, proactive, and outcomes-oriented Principal Change Designer to drive our work on accelerating sustainability impact through designing and implementing ambitious system change projects, predominantly in the sustainable value chains and livelihoods.


Forum for the Future is a leading global sustainability non-profit. For over 20 years we’ve been working to accelerate the shift to a sustainable future by transforming the systems we live in.

We specialise in addressing critical global challenges – from keeping global warming within 1.5 degrees to ensuring more sustainable food systems and livelihoods – by working in partnership with business, governments and civil society to catalyse change.

We are a global team of 60+ people, with offices in London, New York, Singapore and Mumbai, and are in an exciting growth phase with expansion in new markets in Asia and the United States. This post sits within the UK / Europe team – a delivery team of strategists and change designers focused on working with Forum’s external partners and multi-stakeholder coalitions to deliver transformational change.

Your role

Your role will focus on accelerating sustainability impact through designing and implementing ambitious system change projects, predominantly in the sustainable value chains and livelihoods workstream.

The post holder will:

  • Lead the design, delivery and management of Forum’s flagship projects, which aim to deliver system change
  • Work closely and nurture high-level relationships with Forum’s network of partner organisations and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and fundraise for new projects that can deliver transformational outcomes
  • Bring in content expertise in sustainable value chains and livelihoods, and support the effective development of this workstream

Our ideal candidate:

  • Is passionate about sustainability and knowledgeable about value chains
  • Is adaptive and resilient in the face of complexity and uncertainty
  • Can juggle working across a number of different projects and teams
  • Is effective at highly distributed and networked ways of working, and adept at using digital platforms
  • Has experience of working processes that contribute to systems change - which might include applied systems thinking, design, transformational learning, social innovation, collaboration, sustainability transitions
  • Enjoys working with a diverse set of people across different geographies
  • Has experience working on sustainable value chain issues at a global level
  • Is a natural communicator and knows how to translate complex ideas and processes effectively to different types of audiences
  • Knows how to build and nurture strong stakeholder relationships and networks
  • Is a strong facilitator and speaker
  • Has a curious and analytical mind, natural making connections and understanding how things fit into the bigger picture.
  • Strong manager – of time, budgets, people and project teams.

Salary: £39,890 - £45,000 depending on experience (salary is per annum pro rata inclusive of London Weighting Allowance)
