An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with excellent communication skills to join the RSPB NI Communications team.

An engaging and creative communicator, you will be responsible for marketing and promoting our best wildlife sites and inspiring people to join us in saving nature. You will support the development and implementation of destination marketing, visitor experience, events and interpretation to visitors. You will liaise with our reserves and conservation teams to identify stories that showcase the difference that we make.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of writing accessible, engaging copy, and developing excellent print, social media and online content. You will be enthusiastic about nature conservation with an interest in wildlife and habitats, and a desire to see their fortunes improved both now and for future generations.

We are a small team who are passionate about the work we do and are looking for a highly organised and flexible person who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can prioritise efficiently and think creatively. You will be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative.

Working alongside the NI Communications Manager and NI Communications and Events Officer, you will lead on marketing communications, publicising reserve events and developing high quality interpretation plans. You will provide support on RSPB UK-wide initiatives and some regional media work.

This role requires some travel to attend meetings and work with colleagues based across Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will need to travel to areas not always serviced by public transport and needs to be able to meet this requirement as part of the interview process. This may involve early/late finishes or occasional overnight stays by prior arrangement, for which time off in lieu is applicable.

Shortlisting will take place on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 August. On completion of shortlisting, those going forward will be telephoned with an invitation to interview on Monday 12 August 2019.
