Closing date: Wednesday, 31st July 2019

TRAFFIC is now looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised candidate to support their partnership with the FairWild Foundation (www.fairwild.org). This is an exciting opportunity to work on improving the conservation, management and sustainable use of wild plants in trade, as well as the livelihoods of rural harvesters involved in collection.

This role will support the expansion of the FairWild certification scheme for wild harvested plant ingredients, with a focus on company engagement and communications. The candidate will help brand companies – those selling tea, cosmetics or foods and wishing to make their supply of wild products more sustainable – to find the FairWild products they need; and likewise assist FairWild ingredients suppliers in finding buyers. In addition, they will work on improving existing communications approaches and certification scheme operations.

The candidate must have an understanding of the conservation and development issues related to commercial use of wild plants, and ideally have relevant experience of working with standards and certification schemes. The role holder must be a good team player, with the ability to understand and communicate the FairWild vision effectively and persuasively, as well as manage detailed and commercially sensitive information.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible to apply. The role is offered as a part-time position (60%), based in Cambridge with flexible working options possible.
