The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), the community volunteering charity works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone - communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and outdoor places.

This exciting new role will support delivery of TCV’s Growing in Lewisham Project. The project will use group-focused food growing and environmental skills to enhance wellbeing, encourage confidence, empower and upskill young people and their families. The project will be delivered at Firhill Allotments in Bellingham.

The project consists of two key elements:

  1. Firhill Green Gym for young people who are at risk of offending or on reparation orders. Delivered on Saturdays.
  2. A family volunteering and education programme targeting local families, providing enhanced opportunities. Delivered on occasional Sundays or school holidays.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering food growing volunteer projects and a good understanding of urban environmental conservation. The Project Officer will ideally have experience of managing challenging behaviour and a working knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

21 hours per week for 18 months, this role will involve 1 or 2 days of project delivery then 1 or 2 admin days based in our Grays Inn Road Office. Salary range is £17,500 to £18,000 pro rata, plus £2,272.20 London Weighting Allowance.

A driver’s licence is desirable for this role and this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
