Bristol City Council is leading by example in the action against climate change, and has committed to Bristol becoming a carbon neutral City by the year 2050. The Council’s award winning Energy Service is a driving force behind this activity, delivering projects that benefit the social, economic, and environmental health of our City and partners across the region. The Energy Service is recruiting project officers to help deliver this ambitious programme of work.

You will be working on a range of programmes to put Bristol on course to meet its 2050 targets by:

  • Developing renewable energy and energy efficiency programmes, within the Council and across the City
  • Tackling fuel poverty, through a City-wide domestic energy efficiency programme
  • Installing and operating the West of England’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure
  • Delivering a City-wide heat network, to supply low carbon heat to residents and businesses across Bristol, and beyond

You will also:

  • Have excellent and relevant project support experience, ideally with a strong interest in the energy sector
  • Be numerate and capable of undertaking accurate financial, and other, calculations
  • Be able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, to ensure work objectives and deadlines, are met
  • Work flexibly and cooperatively, as part of a team
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision

The energy service will also offer you wide-ranging opportunities to develop expertise in energy related sectors and develop Project Management experience.
