The Community, Education and Volunteer team at Trees for Cities lead engagement activities for thousands of adults and children in the Urban Forest tree planting programme. This role will join an existing coordinator and manager and work closely with the Urban Forest team to deliver multiple, overlapping projects with diverse London communities. The role is partly desk based and partly outdoor work.

WHO WE ARE

Trees for Cities is the only charity working on an international scale to create greener cities. We have been in existence for 25 years engaging communities to plant trees in parks, streets, schools and housing estates across the UK, as well as internationally, revitalising these areas and improving the lives of the people who live in them. We strengthen communities through volunteering opportunities. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • An organised and creative individual with a background in community outreach. Proven experience of running workshops and events for different groups.
  • Passion for and knowledge about wildlife, the environment and working outdoors.
  • A strong team member with the ability to communicate effectively within the team, across the charity and externally, building strong relationships with the public.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly within a busy team and fast-paced working environment.
