Are you an experienced data analyst who is keen to help build the analytical capabilities of an expanding organisation working in the environmental field?

This is a new role within the Performance and Business Intelligence team of Joint Waste Solutions (JWS). JWS is a recently established organisation tasked with delivering improvements in recycling on behalf of a partnership that includes all of Surrey’s councils, and which also manages a £13.5m waste and street cleaning collection contract on behalf of four partner councils.

You will help to build the analytical evidence base for key decisions being made by the partnership, specifically around performance against a number of key performance indicators. Using data from our waste data system, you will provide regular performance reports for the partnership, as well as being part of the wider JWS team working on projects to deliver improvements in recycling performance.

The successful candidate will be capable of analysing and interpreting complex data, and will have good problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail will be essential, as will excellent communication skills, including report writing and the ability to present key messages clearly. They will be capable of working flexibly, under their own initiative, across a range of projects, and will be able to work with and influence a variety of stakeholders.

Some knowledge of waste data would be desirable for the postholder, but is not essential.
