Butterfly Conservation is a leading wildlife charity working to conserve butterflies, moths and the environment. We currently have the following exciting opportunity in the North of England.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead our new project in the Yorkshire Dales, which aims to recruit and train a team of volunteers to survey and monitor key butterfly and moth species across the landscape.

You will be responsible for engaging local communities in active conservation, building capacity through volunteer training workshops and developing existing monitoring and surveying networks.

Conserving species at a landscape scale in order to ensure their long term survival is key. The successful candidate will identify and map the key sites where species are found and make this information, along with management advice, available to partners and landowners.

Good knowledge of Lepidoptera, experience of working with volunteers and exceptional communication skills are all essential. Experience of habitat monitoring techniques and working with external partners are desirable.

Closing date for applications: Noon on Wednesday 26 June 2019.
Interviews will be held at Butterfly Conservation's Head Office in Dorset on Tuesday 16 July 2019.
