CPRE’s Graduate Scheme offers an excellent opportunity for talented and ambitious graduates at the start of their career, providing practical, hands-on experience of our varied campaigns and policy projects.

You will be situated within our influential and respected Campaigns and Policy Department, the successful candidates will work on various policies and projects. You will be involved in policy development and campaigns to promote, enhance and protect the English countryside covering areas such as land use, planning, energy, farming, landscape, litter, transport, and housing, as well as climate change – the greatest threat to the English countryside.

We are seeking three talented and ambitious graduates to join us in roles providing practical, hands-on experience at one of England’s most influential charities. The scheme is designed to help those new to the sector gain an understanding of campaigning and policy development and the skills this requires, while helping us to deliver cutting-edge influencing and advocacy projects. The three posts will provide a combination of experience in research, policy development, external affairs, and campaigning during the 12 months, with the precise mix depending on the candidates’ skills and interests, and on organisational need.

You will receive training to fulfil crucial aspects of your role, participate in a range of events with internal and external speakers concerning various topics affecting the countryside, have opportunities to develop your own network of contacts in the sector, and be allocated an internal mentor to help ensure you make the most of your time with us.

To apply, candidates should read the candidate information pack and job and person specification below, then complete the application form (CVs will not be accepted). Please make sure you address the criteria outlined in the Job and person specification; failing to do so will mean you will be unlikely to be shortlisted. Please send your completed application to jobs@cpre.org.uk by the closing date

Regretfully, we are unable to contact candidates who are not shortlisted for interview. If you do not hear from us by 26 July, please assume your application has not been successful.
