Senior Project Officer, Active Travel Strategy

£27,255 per annum

37.5 hours per week – 2 year contract

based in Inverclyde (4 days pw) and Edinburgh (1 day pw)

The key purpose of this job is to provide assistance to Inverclyde Council, Sustrans partner organisation, in developing and delivering a strategic approach to walking and cycling infrastructure projects and to ensure that the active travel strategy is kept up-to-date, is used to secure council and stakeholder buy-in and is effective in facilitating funding bids to Community Links, Smarter Choices and Community Links Plus funding streams.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of transport planning / land use planning / traffic engineering / urban design / sustainable transport or equivalent with emphasis on planning, design, urban design or cycling and walking as well as successful partnership working. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential as is your IT literacy and knowledge and understanding of best practice in providing for people cycling and walking in urban environments. You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
