Senior Business Development Officer,

Research & Monitoring Unit

£27,255 per annum

37.5 hours per week – maternity cover - based in Bristol

This exciting role provides an opportunity for an experienced and innovative fundraising professional to shape the business development approach of our successful Research & Monitoring Unit. Sustrans’ forty strong team of analysts, GIS, research and evaluation specialists work closely with partners from across the UK – including national governments, universities, charitable trusts and local authorities – and you will support us to grow the reach and impact of the team.

As the business development lead for the Unit, you will work closely with the senior management team in identifying and targeting funding opportunities from a wide range of sources. This role will co-ordinate staff from across the Unit and wider organisation to manage, write and submit innovative and high-quality funding bids.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have significant experience of working collaboratively in the preparation of successful funding bids and competitive tenders. You will also need to be able to think creatively about how these disciplines can be used to meet our partners’ and funders’ needs. You will also be committed to the promotion of walking and cycling.
