Darren Evans Assessments are experts in sustainability and energy efficiency. We work for a multitude of different clients from large commercial developers through to independent investors with a small private rental portfolio, architects, house builders and public sector organisations. Our services range from SAP and SBEM Calculations, PSI Value Calculations, Air and Sound Testing, to BREEAM Assessments, Thermal Modelling and Tender Support.

Due to expansion, we have a vacancy for a Trainee Sustainability and Energy Consultant to join our friendly team based in Chipping Sodbury.

The Role:

The chosen candidate will be required to:

  • Undertake energy assessments
  • Liaise with clients
  • Prepare written reports
  • Manage your own caseload
  • Work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Be committed to continuous learning and development


The candidate must have the following:

  • Knowledge of SAP and or SBEM Calculations
  • Knowledge of Part L of the Building Regulations
  • Clear and confident communication skills, verbal and written
  • Passionate about sustainability and architecture and a desire to learn and progress your career
  • Strong work ethic and passion for customer service
  • Highly developed & creative approach to problem solving

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant understanding of energy, sustainability, engineering or architecture
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Ability to improve own level of knowledge & learning alongside undertaking main working duties
  • Perceptive
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Autonomous but also team player
  • Driving licence
