Sustrans, the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is looking for a highly motivated person, who is passionate about activation projects, to join our England South team.

Senior Network Development Manager, England South (Ref: SUS2656)

£31,058 per annum

37.5 hours per week - based in Reading, London or Bristol

(London base attracts a London Weighting allowance of £3,995pa)

This is a new and very exciting role to programme manage a number of activation projects to improve the National Cycle Network (NCN) across the South, including the HS2 corridor. The role will also lead, plan, co-ordinate and prioritise the work of the Network Development Managers ensuring income is maximised and resources focused on projects aligned with Sustrans’ vision and mission.

With experience of transport planning or related subject, you will have experience in project management, project delivery to time and budget and experience of working in partnership with other organisations and local stakeholders. You will also have experience of leading, motivating and developing a team, some of whom will work remotely. You will have excellent verbal and written communications skills, the ability to build and maintain successful working relations, negotiation and advocacy skills and the ability to lead and motivate others. You will have knowledge of cycling related standards, guidelines and best practice, and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
