The South London Botanical Institute (SLBI) was established in 1910 to introduce people to the science, pleasure and importance of plants. Still based in the original building in Tulse Hill, this aim continues today, with plant education for all ages at the heart of our vision: ‘Discovering plants, enriching lives, sustaining the future.’ The SLBI is a delightful centre for plant education, incorporating library, herbarium, teaching programme and botanic garden.

The Individual-Giving Coordinator is a short-term post (18 months) dedicated to the review and development of the SLBI's Individual Giving arrangements, including membership subscriptions, donations, and legacies. You will identify improvements and put in place methods to encourage more individual giving in the 18 months and beyond. A Major Donor consultant will help you develop the programme for attracting major donations above £1,000, or this work can be carried out by the Individual Giving Coordinator, depending on experience.

You will have demonstrable experience & success developing and promoting individual giving programmes and will enjoy working with a small team in a busy but very enjoyable, nature-based environment.

This post is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund under their Resilient Heritage Programme and is part of a larger BEST programme (‘Botanical Education: Sustainable & Thriving’).
