We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual as our Ecologist to be the first point of contact for internal and external ecological advice within the North York Moors National Park. Your work place will include wide sweeps of open heather moorland, distinctive dales, valleys and inland headlands; an abundance of forest and ancient woodland rich in wildlife.

You will be working in a newly restructured conservation department which is now organised into thematic areas, woodland, moorland, and freshwater. You will be expected to have an over sight of all of these areas and a particular knowledge of terrestrial ecology related to moorlands. We are looking for someone with;

The post holder will have line management responsibility for our Graduate Trainee, Turtle Dove Project Officer and Levisham Estate Manager, and will work closely with the Head of Natural Environment on the strategic direction of Ecology work in the National Park.

The National Park and surrounding area is a superb place to live and work with excellent schools and good access to main transportation links. The post is based at the Authority’s Headquarters in the attractive town of Helmsley (market town of the year 2016).
