For an initial two and a half year period, to lead on the development of the work of the John Muir Trust in England and Wales and in particular to set out proposals for strengthening work to secure the aims of the Trust with regard to policies for wild places, funding and influence.

The John Muir Trust is seeking a senior development manager to build the Trust’s capacity to conserve and protect wild land in England and Wales. The post-holder will build on a long history of operating through the John Muir Award and the recent granting of a lease for Glenridding Common (Helvellyn) in the Lake District National Park. The role will focus on building relationships with stakeholders in order to develop and implement plans for the sustainable growth of fundraising and membership in England and Wales. The work will be overseen by the Management Team who will in effect be a project board for this work. The post holder will work closely with staff across the UK.
