Research Assistant, Future Trees Trust
Full Time, 3 year fixed term with possibility of extension

Future Trees Trust are seeking a motivated person to assist with an expanding research programme. Based in South Oxfordshire, this person will be a recent graduate with a degree in forestry, a related land science subject or genetics, and have a keen interest in forestry research in general, and forest genetics in particular. This full-time position is fully funded for three years, with the possibility of longer term employment, funding permitting. The job is aimed at a young graduate looking for a career in forest genetic resources.

Future Trees Trust is a charity dedicated to hardwood tree improvement and the management of forest genetic resources. While we do not directly own any land or research trials, we have many active partnerships with landowners and research organisations. This job entails the management of many diverse research sites and overnight travel, occasionally for several consecutive days, is a key component of this job.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, independent, reliable and trustworthy with a willingness to work unsocial hours during the field season. A full clean driving license and own vehicle is essential.
