Ecology and Land Management Advisor
Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB)

The Lodge, 90 Station Road, Chinnor, OX39 4HA
£25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Fixed Term Contract to June 2023

Are you passionate and knowledgeable about ecology and nature conservation? Do you have great communication and project management skills? Would you like to play a key role in an exciting new Landscape Partnership Scheme to create more, bigger, better and better connected habitat across the Central Chilterns?

Chalk, Cherries and Chairs is a £2.8m 5-year Landscape Partnership Scheme at the heart of one of the UK’s finest and most distinctive landscapes. The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder, contributing £2m. The Scheme is made of up 18 projects and has been designed to conserve and enhance the wildlife habitats and landscape features of the Central Chilterns and to inspire communities to learn, create and act to care for their local heritage.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a wide range of landowners to create and oversee delivery of a series of habitat restoration and enhancement schemes at a landscape scale. You will offer habitat management advice, write management plans and engage with contractors to commission and deliver site specific plans. You will have the opportunity to see the plans through from inception to completion, and to create and deliver a package of specific training, events and working groups for landowners.

You will bring to the role an understanding of habitat management techniques and a proven record in project design, contract management and delivery. You will be part of a small project team based in Chinnor. You will work across a wide range of sites and with multiple partners across the scheme area.

If you have the skills and experience we need, combined with a passion for the Chilterns landscape, its communities, and its wildlife, we would love to hear from you.
