Living Levels Volunteering Coordinator

Gwent Wildlife Trust is seeking to recruit a 4 day a week Volunteering Coordinator for a fixed 2-year contract, as part of the Living Levels Partnership Scheme (RSPB led) on the Gwent Levels, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The post holder will be key to achieving the volunteering outputs for the Living Levels Scheme including ensuring efficient volunteer data management and communication but if you wanted solely a desk based role then this isn’t the job for you! The successful candidate will want an active job where few days are the same, recruiting and working closely with volunteers to enthuse and inspire them about the wonderful events and activities going on across the Gwent Levels as part of the overall Living Levels Scheme.

You will be friendly and knowledgeable about the natural world, confident to lead volunteer work groups carrying out various activities from litter picks to fruit collection, and supporting contractors who require volunteers to achieve their project goals such including archaeological projects, improving and maintaining rights of way and delivering events. You will be an ambassador for the Living Levels Scheme and a team player who is happy to support other team members where required in helping to achieve outputs.

The role will be partly seconded 1-2 days per week to the RSPB to embed standard financial processes and monitoring methods, and ensure the integration with the Living Levels Scheme Team. The role will also be supported by other core staff roles based at GWT and will also require close working with all the partners including RSPB, NRW, BCT, Buglife and the Local Authorities.

Salary: £21,754 - £23,932 depending on experience, pro-rata
