The ability to communicate in Welsh and English is essential for this role.

The Snowdonia National Park Warden Service helps visitors to enjoy the recreational opportunities presented by the Park, whilst protecting its landscape, wildlife and environment, together with the interests of local residents and landowners.

The Service contributes to the day to day maintenance of car parks, picnic sites, paths, trails and other properties owned and managed by the Authority, as well as for monitoring activities which take place on other land in which the Authority has an interest.

In addition, the Service works with local community groups and with volunteers, as well as providing members of the public with information, leading guided walks and working with schools and visiting educational groups, and liaising with the emergency services.

The post holder will assist the full-time Warden Service in the fulfilment of its objectives, foster and maintain good relations between residents, land managers, visitors, users, the agricultural community and conservation interests and provide information and advice to recreational users of the National Park and carry out maintenance and patrols on foot of the area’s most popular trails (both SNPA and privately owned).

To apply for the post you should have experience of engaging and working with the public, knowledge of current access and recreational issues and their impact on National Park purposes, a reasonable level of fitness commensurate with the role’s duties and responsibilities and experience and knowledge of hill-walking. The ability to communicate in Welsh and English is essential.
