Senior Campaigns Manager (UK)

Newark

£37,000 per annum

Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

The Wildlife Trusts have a vision of land and seas rich in wildlife and people close to nature. We believe that nature is valuable in its own right, that everyone should have the chance to experience the joy of wildlife and that we are part of nature, wholly dependent upon it.

This is a time of immense change, when the laws protecting our environment and wildlife are at risk and people are suffering more than ever from lack of access to nature. We are determined to empower our supporters and the next generation to turn this around – to lead nature’s recovery and reconnect us to the natural world.

The Wildlife Trusts is a grassroots movement of 800,000 members, 43,000 volunteers and 2,000 staff across the UK dedicated to this vision and driven by our beliefs. We value courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility.

We are currently seeking a Senior Campaigns Manager to join our Campaigns and Policy Team. You’ll deliver the high-profile national campaign Wilder Future, galvanising The Wildlife Trusts and key supporters, including young people in our call to: Put Nature into Recovery. You’ll work to achieve strong public support for the concept of a Nature Recovery Network and you’ll be on the lookout for environmentally damaging cases from individual trusts that can be prioritised into movement wide priority campaigns.

You’ll be responsible for campaign planning documents, managing allocated resources and you’ll oversee the development and production of campaign materials, publications and online content.

We are seeking a strong people and project manager who can apply policy and public affairs thinking to deliver effective public facing campaigns. It is essential that you have experience of managing customer relationships, negotiating, influencing and making strategic decisions along with experience of applying movement building and / or grassroots campaigning techniques within a charity. You’ll have an interest in, and passion for, the natural world and you’ll be highly organised, enabling you to plan and prioritise accordingly.

We value courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility. Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental, and we are inclusive. Our society is divided, and The Wildlife Trusts want to reduce, not increase, that division.

The Wildlife Trusts is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, 2 disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
