Global Generation is looking for a gardener who is passionate about involving the community in gardening. As the Community Gardener for our work in Canada Water and Euston, you will be responsible for engaging local young people, families and volunteers in Global Generation’s gardening projects and be in a supportive role in other nature based workshops. You will work side by side with our teams in co-planning and facilitating workshops, as well as installing and maintaining gardens

Global Generation was founded in 2004 to unlock potential within individuals and between all of us and the natural world. It is how we see and experience each other and all of nature that continues to be the foundation in how we work to create worthwhile, practical change in the world. We have an established network of urban food-growing sites in King’s Cross, Euston, and Canada Water. Our work is focused on the development of the whole person, providing support for young people to become catalysts for change in their communities. We integrate values-based reflective learning into practical sessions, enabling young people to grow themselves, grow relationships and grow a new vision for the future. For this role you will be working across 2 sites in Euston and Canada Water.

As Education and Community Gardener you will:

  • Alongside the teams, develop the vision on how best to involve young people, local residents and families
  • Involve the local communities in Global Generation’s gardening projects
  • Help maintain Global Generation’s gardens
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate gardening workshops for children and young people taking part in our existing programmes, such as regular Primary School workshops and the Generator programme (youth leadership programme)
  • Attend meetings as required and input into vision of gardens and wider organisation
