Policy and Advocacy Strategy Officer
Reference number: A6530319
Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire

Salary starting at: £25,463 to £27,585 per annum
Hours: Full time
Contract: Permanent

Now is a critical time for the RSPB as we seek to influence public policy for nature post Brexit and in the run up to the crucial UN global nature convention in 2020. As Policy & Advocacy Strategy Officer you will work with policy and advocacy staff across the organisation to prioritise work and shape strategies for policy advocacy, develop and refine support systems, bring to life our messaging through better integration with communications and campaigns and support governance structures. You will have delegated responsibility for managing key projects to ensure we have the systems, strategy and resources in place to deliver big impact in the outside world.

We are looking for candidates who are highly organised and understand the role of strategic governance systems. You will have experience in policy and advocacy, excellent project and people management skills, and be able to communicate effectively across the organisation. Demonstrating equivalent skills, aptitude and ambition is more important than any specific qualifications.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work with people across the RSPB in multiple disciplines (for example science, campaigning, communications and digital etc).

We are on a mission to transform the policy landscape for nature on land and at sea. Come and join us!

Closing date: 28 March 2019
Interview date: 8 April 2019, 9 April 2019
