The Role

The Land Management Team play a critical role in TEP’s overall delivery of the Homes England Land and Risk Management Consultancy. The role will entail managing landscape management and maintenance contracts, managing and inspecting sites on behalf of our clients, and working on management plans to support development and ensure long term management of green spaces and their benefits to people and wildlife. The site portfolio is continually changing with new sites requiring prompt assessment with subsequent de-risking strategies put in place and managed.

In addition the Team are responsible for the production of Landscape and Habitat Management Plans, Open Space Assessments, Green Infrastructure Strategies, and Endowment Calculations as part of land transfer agreements.

The role will also support the wider activity of Land Management within TEP including working with our Design, Ecology, Planning and Historic Environment Teams.

The successful applicant will be largely, but not solely, working on projects for Homes England. Most of the sites managed from the Gateshead office are in the North East but a number are located in the Yorkshire/Derbyshire area.

Person Specification


  • Landscape management or other appropriate qualification;
  • Awareness of local and national environmental and planning policy;
  • Ability to occasionally undertake multi-day site visit programs requiring overnight stays away from home;
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills including report writing and presentations;
  • Ability to independently manage workloads to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, Excel (especially), Word and Outlook;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Able to work well alone and also as part of a team; and
  • Full driving licence. Desirable:
  • Understanding and/or experience of managing contracts and contractors;
  • Skills in any of CAD, QGIS, Photoshop or CorelDraw;
  • Licentiate membership of a relevant institute or membership of IOSH and working towards professional qualifications (i.e. Tech IOSH). TEP Benefits
