Communications & Engagement Officer – Our Bright Future

Contract: 22.5 hours, Fixed-term contract until December 2020
Salary Band: £20,000-£24,000 per annum (pro rata)

Do you have excellent communication skills? Can you inspire young people (aged 11-24) to engage with environmental issues, learn new skills and act as catalysts for change for their environment and communities? If so, this could be the job for you...

Our Bright Future is an ambitious and innovative partnership led by The Wildlife Trusts which brings together the youth and environmental sectors. This £33 million programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund is formed of 31 projects across the UK. Each project is helping young people aged 11-24 gain vital skills and experience and improve their wellbeing. At the same time, they act as catalysts for delivering change for their local environment and community; whilst contributing to a greener economy.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and creative individual to join the Our Bright Future team. You will work with young people, in schools and communities, to explore environmental issues and develop their skills and experience in communications, campaigning and event planning. If you have excellent communication skills and want to create a brighter future for young people and the environment, we want to hear from you!

Avon Wildlife Trust is a charity dedicated to working with local people for local wildlife, covering the West of England region (former county of Avon). It is supported by more than 17,500 members, manages over 30 nature reserves and is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts in the UK.

Closing date: 9am, Monday 1 April 2019
