Location: Home based/Operating in the Southern region (Hampshire, Wiltshire or Dorset)
Salary: Dependant on experience and capability
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9 - 5, 1 hr lunch break

More recently, in response to client demands, the Company have constructed a number of product bundles from their full range of services, which are designed to overcome environmental challenges in specific markets and sectors.

The Company are seeking to appoint a highly experienced and capable Senior Environmental Consultant to join their team operating in the Southern region of the country.

The primary focus of the role is to undertake tasks including arranging site works, liaising with contractors and clients, conducting site investigations and performing associated sampling and monitoring whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Employed on a full-time basis, the Senior Environmental Consultant will be expected to undertake additional hours as and when required to ensure customer demand is met.

Senior Environmental Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Project management of environmental insurance claims
  • Arranging and undertaking of site works (including investigation and remediation works) in accordance with the scope of works and liaising with site staff, homeowners and contractors prior to site visits.
  • Site investigation design and supervising site investigations, remediation works and validations, and perform associated sampling and monitoring.
  • Managing contractors on-site and maintain high standards of health and safety and quality.
  • Report health and safety incidents, near misses and positive observations to the Project Manager and Health and Safety Manager.
  • Schedule samples for appropriate laboratory analysis and liaise with the laboratory.
  • Prepare desk study reports, including undertaking PRAs and preparing interpretive site investigation reports, including performing GQRAs.
  • Prepare site validation reports.
  • This list is not exhaustive and the postholder will be expected to undertake any other task or duty for which the postholder is capable of undertaking and requested by line or senior management in order to meet business needs

Senior Environmental Consultant Requirements:

  • Applicants should possess 5 or more years’ experience gained within a similar position and hold a degree in a geo-environmental related discipline and ideally some professional qualifications while working towards Chartership with a relevant organisation.
  • Experience working on contaminated land projects, site investigation techniques, drilling techniques, collecting and logging samples in accordance with BS5930 and the development and updating of CSMs would be advantageous as would a working knowledge of CLR11 and BS10175.
  • Experience working on contaminated land projects where there is petroleum hydrocarbon contamination would also be valuable in this role.
  • Applicants should be computer literate with working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, workforce and clients at all levels as well as excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The postholder will be required to travel to any location within the Company’s operational footprint; therefore, possession of a full, clean UK driving licence is essential for this role.
