Senior Countryside Ranger (Salary £30,898 - £34,202 per annum)

Fife is one of Scotland’s top destinations for outdoor recreation, where FCCT is responsible for the delivery of a range of countryside recreation services at sites across the Kingdom, embracing Scotland’s most used long distance route, the Fife Coastal Path, 14 award winning beaches, including the West Sands and Eden Estuary, the Lomond Hills Regional Park and the new long distance route, the Fife Pilgrim Way. Working closely with partners, land owners and managers, and local communities, we aim to continue to improve access and opportunities for residents and visitors to experience, engage with and enjoy Fife’s wonderful countryside, promoting health and wellbeing, the Fife economy and jobs.

The Trust’s Senior Countryside Ranger will have direct responsibility for the day to day management of a team of Countryside Rangers. You will provide effective leadership and support for the team and have responsibility for the delivery of the Ranger Service Team Plan. Through the Trust’s Ranger Service, you will support the provision and promote access to the countryside of Fife for outdoor recreation and outdoor learning activities.

Working closely with the FCCT management team you will promote and implement a culture of good practice and sound business management principles throughout the Ranger team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of countryside management. You will have a significant level of both practical experience in relevant countryside skills and of managing a team of countryside professionals, ideally with a background as a countryside ranger.
