National Walking & Cycling Network Partnership Officer

£26,985 per annum

37.5 hours per week – two year fixed term contract - based in Oban

Sustrans are teaming up with Scottish Natural Heritage to support the development and delivery of National Walking and Cycling Network infrastructure projects, focussing initially on the Cross Scotland Pilgrim Way between Tyndrum and Oban. This position will take a lead role in building relationships and consulting with key partners including landowners, local authorities and the community in order to map routes and plan and budget the project’s implementation.

Educated to a degree level or equivalent, you will have demonstrable experience of project management and successful partnership working. You will have experience of working with landowners, of community consultation and of working with consultants and contractors. You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience compiling and critiquing reports. You will be able to work independently with good organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload. You will also have knowledge of walking and cycling routes in Scotland and be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport. Given the location, the post holder will need to drive on occasion and a valid UK driving licence will be required. Employment will be conditional on clearance by a PVG Disclosure check.
