An ethical, fast-growing recycling and resource management company with a team of exceptional people, Paper Round is looking for someone with a zest for sustainability and the knack for bringing others with them on a journey towards better recycling. The first few months of a client contract are critical in establishing a meaningful step-change in the way waste and resources are managed. As our Sustainability Executive, you would be responsible for coordinating a multi-tiered approach to educating and engaging individuals using our recycling schemes. This will include; holding training session on client sites, hosting and presenting ‘lunch and learn’ workshops, carrying out site audits and running awareness road shows and facility tours. You would also head up our in-house Green Team, sharing knowledge to keep your colleagues up to date on the latest environmental issues, trends and topics.

You will need to be engaging, highly organised and autonomous. The role will see you out and about 70% of the time engaging our customers in person, and you will need to ensure your knowledge of sustainability and our sector is always spot on. We are relying on you to help our customers to become as environmentally aware and focussed as possible. Are you up for the challenge?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Sessions/Presentations – training client staff on our recycling scheme, why it is important to recycle and how the scheme affects them.
  • Floor Walks - Going into work places and looking at the recycling infrastructure and layout, considering how the scheme can be improved to achieve higher recycling rates and then compiling a report of recommendations.
  • Floor Runs – Engage directly with office-based users of a scheme directly approaching individuals or small groups of staff, introducing the scheme, educating them on the benefits, responding to questions and carrying out educational surveys.
  • Awareness Road Shows - Manning the marketing stand, engaging tenants and workers to ensure they are excited about our scheme and will fully engage with it.
  • Head of Green Team - Attending external events and reading up on sustainability issues and sharing your learnings through lunch & learn workshops and other green team activities.

The Person

As a Sustainability Executive you will have;

  • Degree and/or post graduate degree in a sustainability related field or equivalent qualification by experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to adapt your approach and style to appeal to a range of people.
  • Ability to be highly autonomous and self-motivated with a genuine talent for taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • A passion for the environment and ability to use and convey this passion.
  • The ability to look for solutions, not problems, and to use this outlook to achieve a great team spirit, with a can-do attitude.
  • Outgoing and sociable, unafraid to approach client employees and engage them.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Good and sound knowledge of Microsoft suite, with advanced knowledge of excel being a bonus.
