Opportunities for Senior Ecologists at FPCR.

FPCR is a leading environmental consultancy with over 70 ecologists operating from four offices across the UK. Our head office is based at Lockington, Derby and is supported by our regional offices in Exeter, Dorking and York.

Working with our inhouse landscape, architecture and arboriculture teams and external consultants, we work on a diverse range of exciting public and private sector projects. Our ecologists can provide the whole range of ecological services; from desk-based development scoping and constraints surveys to the full suite of surveys required to support planning applications. The team also supports clients through the licensing process and in the implementation of complex species and habitat mitigation schemes. A particularly valuable skill of the practice is our ability to balance commercial realities with ecological responsibilities, using a diverse range of staff who are highly motivated and experienced in a broad range of specialisms.

Due to our expanding client base and workload, the practice has a number of opportunities across the regions and we are seeking applications from bright and enthusiastic Senior Ecologists to help us manage the many challenges associated with our growing business.

We would welcome application from candidates who:

  • An experienced and proven project manager;
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience;
  • Excellent Extended Phase 1 habitat survey skills, ideally with NVC and detailed botanical survey experience;
  • Experience with a range of protected species surveys and mitigation, and have experience of the licensing process;
  • Have excellent report writing skills providing clear and concise information, including design of mitigation and habitat management plans;
  • Experienced/knowledge in producing Ecological Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulation Assessments.;
  • Be competent in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar;
  • A Full Member of CIEEM.

FPCR offer a great opportunity to work within friendly and supportive teams with competitive salaries, annual leave and benefit packages and internal/external training where necessary. We strongly believe in the principles of supporting and developing our staff, and we strive to give every opportunity for career progression in-house, and in terms of CPD training.

If you are interested in any of these positions or require further information, please send your CV and covering letter confirming your preferred location via email quoting FPCR.Senior_Eco to applications@fpcr.co.uk.
