The Nottingham City Council Parks & Open Spaces Service is looking for a Greenspace Development Officer to join the team. Working on projects to seek funding, develop projects and deliver improvements to parks and open spaces and manage the City's allotments, this is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team with an excellent track record. As the Country's highest Green Flag Award winner with a significant capital improvement programme, citywide community group partnerships and extensive allotment network, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player with experience and skills from the green space sector.

The starting salary is £24,657 (Level One) rising to £26,470 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers)

 Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of managing and delivering projects in a greenspace environment including managing contractors.
  • Well developed knowledge and understanding of park, open space and allotment management issues such as maintenance, security and health and safety requirements.
  • Well developed experience and knowledge of Green Flag and other environmental legislation and regulations appropriate to the management and development of greenspace.
  • Ability to evaluate numerical and literary information and write reports for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to communicate with both staff and the public, in person, in writing and by phone, including the ability to give presentations.
  • Experience of working on own initiative in order to meet strict deadlines and objectives.
