Schools Cycling Officer, Leicester

£24,204 pro rata per annum

15 hours per week - contract to 31 March 2020

This exciting role will aim to promote cycling as a form of active and sustainable travel, to school age children, parents and staff at selected primary and secondary schools in Leicester. The Officer will also support ‘school champions’ in schools, harness local authority resources available for cycling and active travel and make links between schools and the wider community.

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working with children and young people, organising and delivering events and partnership working within a community-based or environment project. With proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and to deliver engagement activities, you will be pro-active and be able to motivate and enthuse others. You will be IT literate, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and organise your own workload effectively. Commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport is essential as is an understanding of the school setting and the health benefits of active travel. Employment will be conditional on clearance by an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.
