Summary

We’re looking for someone who can deliver high standards of presentation and infrastructure throughout our outdoor visitor experience at Studland Bay.

If you have the ability to build and maintain relationships, the ability to manage budgets, lead a team and can deliver exceptional customer service then we’d like to hear from you.

What it's like to work here

This 1000 year old royal castle stands at the gateway to the Isle of Purbeck. The area, famed for its beaches, castle and countryside, is home to some of the rarest species in the UK, including British reptiles. To become part of our friendly team, you will need a love of the outdoors and an interest in active pursuits. A strong commercial focus and year-round opening means work at Purbeck Island requires energy and commitment, and the roles are fun and varied in a unique location.

What you'll be doing

This role will be responsible for the day to day servicing and presentation of an exceptionally busy beach area and car parks, delivering the highest standards of presentation, maintenance and visitor experience. You will lead a team of staff and volunteers and work collaboratively with other heads of department and the Ranger team. You will be responsible for managing contracts and equipment and working within National Trust procedures and conservation guidelines.

Who we're looking for

This job is about providing a service. To be fantastic in this role, you’ll need to: have the following;

  • Significant practical experience of infrastructure and access management at a high volume visitor location
  • Good experience of health and safety requirements and risk management
  • Leadership skills including setting personal objectives and conducting development reviews
  • Good people skills enabling strong relationships both internal and external to be built and maintained
  • Experience of working with volunteers with good understanding of the different approaches needed to reward, recognise and motivate volunteers
  • Experience of managing budgets and contractors
