In consultation with the children and young people, staff and community you will lead in planning, developing and delivering a programme of stimulating, enjoyable and developmental environmental activities for the Triangle Nature Club covering Green Facts (identification and information about wildlife); Increasing Biodiversity (species surveys, increasing and improving habitats) Green Food (gardening and cooking) and Green Futures (conservation and sustainability), foraging and trips off site, having regard to the fact that the Triangle is an open access playground which encourages and expects children to devise their own play. See our twitter account for what we have been doing to date @Triangle_apg

Triangle Adventure Playground, Ashmole Street, London SW8 1NE, is the oldest adventure playground site in London having been established in 1957.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of environmental issues and some experience of working with children and young people, aged 6 to 17, preferably but not exclusively in an adventure playground setting. The work is physically hard and you will be outdoors in all weathers. Experience of working in a team and an understanding of a child-centred approach to activities would be useful.

The vacancy is for two days per week. You will be paid £5,978 per year (with an annual 1% uplift) which includes 8 days paid holiday, which must be taken outside of school holidays. The contract is until 31 December 2020. Continuation beyond this time will depend on funding. The delivery of activities will take place from 3pm until 6:30pm M-F during term time and 11:30 to 6:30pm M-F during school holidays but you will be expected to undertake training, and conduct outreach, monitoring and admin outside of these hours. We would not expect the hours to be more than an average of 14 hours per week across the whole year.
