CSA Environmental is recruiting for an Ecologist to join our busy Sussex Office.

You will be joining our experienced and friendly team of ecologists in Brighton servicing projects in the south-east of England, working as part of our larger multidisciplinary environmental planning team based across three regional UK offices. We are looking for an ecologist with a minimum of 2-3 years full time consultancy experience. Your role will encompass all aspects of project work including surveys, reporting writing, project management and client liaison. Working alongside our team of ecologists, landscape architects and urban designers you will be able to develop your skills and experience and play a significant role in delivering projects. Flexibility, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic are essential.

You must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • at least 2-3 years full time consultancy experience
  • a first or upper second class degree in a relevant ecology/biology based subject (post-graduate qualifications desirable)
  • competence in Phase 1 Habitat surveying
  • experience of a range of protected species surveys, including some personal survey licences (Class 2 Bat Survey licence desirable)
  • a genuine passion for wildlife and commitment to conservation
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • strong commitment to a career in the consultancy sector
  • a full driving licence and car ownership
  • membership of CIEEM (desirable)
