Ofgem is committed to making a positive difference for energy consumers through effective regulation of the market and close working with suppliers to ensure sustainable energy for consumers and businesses in the UK.

The System Operator (SO) Regulation team is responsible for the day-to-day regulation of the Electricity SO, including the regulatory and incentives framework, price control considerations, implementing European regulations and other policy areas. We pride ourselves on taking a rigorous, unbiased and evidence-based approach. Working across a number of regulatory areas, you will lead a wide variety of projects including delivering high-quality analysis, policy development and policy recommendation. You need to be adaptable, collaborative and capable of coaching others – good judgment, outstanding communication and presentation skills, and strong project management abilities are all absolutely vital.

In this senior management role, we are looking for excellent analytical skills and an influential, collaborative approach to problem-solving and delivery. An analytical degree or relevant professional experience is essential, while experience of working in the energy sector – or similarly highly regulated environment – would be highly desirable.
