We are looking for an inspiring person to deliver Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s Hardwick Green Meadows project to engage people in the heritage of these wonderful and rare floodplain meadows.

Hardwick Green Meadows are a collection of seven meadows (50 acre/20 hectare) in Eldersfield Marsh, in the southwestern corner of Worcestershire. The meadows include nationally and internationally rare floodplain meadows. The purpose of the Heritage Lottery Fund supported project is to engage local community groups and local schools in the heritage of these meadows and others in the surrounding area. The Project Officer will be responsible for the successful continued delivery of this project, which began back in April 2018.

Using a range of techniques can you engage with community groups, and schools, concerning the importance of wildlife, conservation, the natural environment and the work of the Trust? If so, this role may be for you.

Activities will include the continuation of an oral history project with the local community and schools, further developing a new cycle route around traditional hay meadows and a series of guided walks and talks for and to local groups.

You will be responsible for continuing to manage and deliver the project activity, in line with the project funding agreement, in a range of settings. The project is currently in a healthy position with many elements underway or planned and with great volunteer and community support already in place. You will need experience of delivering projects and of engaging a range of people in the importance of wildlife and conservation.

Some evening and weekend working will be required and a full clean driving license is essential. This is a part-time (14hrs/week) position, on a 13 month fixed-term contract ending in March 2020.

The post is based at Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester WR3 8SZ with regular travel required to in an around Eldersfield Marsh in southwest Worcestershire.
