Closing date: Thursday, 31st January 2019

We have an excellent opportunity for a Programme Officer/Researcher to join our team working on Brexit and International Trade at a very exciting time in this area of work. The successful candidate will work closely with our small but growing team, supporting our legal work in this area in a variety of ways, including conducting both law and policy research and administrative activities. As the UK's departure from the EU approaches, our programme of work in this fast-paced area is increasing with a range of important topics for us to cover.

This is a newly created role and will involve working very closely with our lawyers and political experts already engaged on the legal reforms taking place as a result of leaving the EU. This includes the Environment Bill, the Fisheries Bill and the establishment of a new environmental watchdog, as well as our broader work on international trade taking place at both our London and Brussels offices.

Role requirements

We are looking for an organised and driven person who has an understanding of environmental policy, law and/or politics. They must be able to think and work rigorously and effectively to support the team in a variety of ways. The post involves a range of skills, including administration, research, writing and media work and will operate in a highly dynamic political environment. The ability to prioritise amongst a range of tasks is therefore a must. Strong communication skills for both internal and external purposes will be necessary as well as commitment to contributing positively to our team environment.
